About the studio

A small studio with a considered point of view

Vale & Marlowe was founded on a simple belief: good interiors are not about trends but about proportion, light, texture and the way a room supports daily life.

We work with a trusted circle of makers, upholsterers and contractors, and we stay involved on site until the last picture is hung.

  • Dedicated lead designer on every project
  • Transparent trade pricing — no hidden mark-ups
  • Drawings detailed enough to build from

Questions, answered

How do you charge?

Most projects run on a fixed design fee agreed after discovery, with furniture and materials purchased at transparent trade pricing. Consultations are a flat hourly rate.

Do you work with our contractor?

Yes. We issue drawings and schedules your contractor can price and build from, and we attend site at the milestones that matter.

Can you work within an existing budget?

Absolutely — the budget is agreed at discovery and the design is developed to it, with priorities set together.

How long does a full home take?

Design typically takes 8–12 weeks; procurement and installation depend on lead times, which we map out in the schedule you receive.
